Nadim Matta

Recognized by Foreign Policy Magazine as one of the 100 Top Global Thinkers of 2012 (#25), Nadim joined the ranks of other leaders including Warren Buffett, Bill and Melinda Gates, Hillary Clinton, Sheryl Sandberg, Christine Lagarde, and George Soros. Nadim is a leading expert in accelerating results and building capability in complex environments. He has broad global, cross-industry experience helping leaders align around common visions, set outrageously high expectations, and inspire teams to achieve unreasonable goals.

In his interview by CIO, "We Should Stop Using the Term ‘IT project’: Nadim Matta", he discusses the importance of looking at projects through a 100-day lens, how CIOs can tackle the challenge of too many concurrent business requests, and the political waters they will have to wade through to get their organizations to move faster.

Nadim has consulted with organizations in a wide variety of sectors ranging from financial services to health care to manufacturing to international development. He has led engagements that focused on strategy execution, leadership development, culture change, and executive coaching. Some of Nadim's clients include Pfizer, Anglo American, SCOR Reinsurance, Zurich Financial Services, Ascom, FujiFilm USA, The Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and The World Bank.

Nadim's work with The World Bank focused on helping developing countries apply Schaffer Consulting's Rapid Results Approach to complex challenges such as strengthening public sector performance in Kenya and fighting HIV/AIDS in Eritrea.

Since 2006, Nadim has been President and Board member of the Rapid Results Institute, an independent not-for-profit organization that was created by Schaffer Consulting and spun off to focus on building capacity for Rapid Results coaching support in sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East. The work of the Institute has been featured in The New York Times, the Economist, and most recently, in Foreign Policy Magazine (#25).

Before joining Schaffer Consulting, Nadim oversaw the implementation of the relief and rehabilitation program at the U.S. Agency of International Development in Lebanon. He also worked with Save the Children to launch and manage a multi-year food distribution program benefiting 100,000 internally displaced families during the Civil War in Lebanon.

Nadim has an MBA from the Yale School of Management and was recognized by the university as a 2012-2013 Donaldson Fellow for his personal and professional accomplishments around educating leaders for business and society. He also has a Masters degree in Public Health from the American University of Beirut and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from The Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
