With over twenty years of cross-industry consulting experience, Jonathan has helped numerous clients tackle complex business challenges and address the human aspects associated with change initiatives. His work focuses on helping leadership teams align on strategic priorities, then translate those into focused, rapid-cycle projects. These projects produce meaningful business results in less than 100 days and generate innovations, learning, and confidence to accelerate the overall initiatives.

Jonathan’s broad understanding of key business issues, knowledge and experience in the area of information technology, acute sensitivity to human dynamics in the workplace, and ability to foster strong working relationships are real assets he brings to his consulting work.

Jonathan’s work at Schaffer Consulting leverages the Rapid Results approach and GE-style WorkOuts. He has collaborated with teams at Bard Medical, Bausch + Lomb, Bayer, Cablevision, Cisco, Columbia University, ConAgra, Danfoss Power Solutions, Devon Energy, Gannett, Iberdrola USA, Merck, MPAC, Pepsi, Pfizer, QBE, Surgical Care Affiliates, Thomson Reuters, the US Small Business Administration, USA Today, the World Bank, XL Insurance, York Risk Services Group, and Zurich Financial Services to help their organizations streamline complex business processes and enhance their overall performance.

Jonathan has written several articles and blogs for a number of publications, including Harvard Business Review and Leader to Leader.  His latest, “Three Paths to Successful Organic Growth,” outlines the key differences between simple and complex initiatives, and the principles to make complex efforts – like driving organic growth, accelerating innovation, cutting organizational complexity, and realizing M&A synergies – successful.

Prior to joining Schaffer, Jonathan was a Director with PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he led information security risk management projects. He was also an organizational development consultant with the Visiting Nurse Service of New York and an analyst in the Process division of Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting).

Jonathan earned his Master of Arts degree in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University and his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Cornell University.
